Tata Motors launches Learning Centre in Hyderabad

 

Hyderabad, May 21, 2008: The Passenger Car division of Tata Motors has launched “Tata Motors Learning Centre (TMLC)” in Hyderabad on Wednesday. A unique initiative, the Learning Centre will provide basic training in automobiles, required by service personnel at dealerships and service centres. The objective is to develop trained service personnel to meet the growing demand for trained manpower in the automotive industry. Mr Vikram Sinha, Head – Customer Support, Passenger Car Business Unit, inaugurated the Centre.

The Learning Centre is being introduced by Tata Motors in partnership with its dealer, Concorde Motors and Adayana Learning Solutions. The Learning Centre is located in the premises of Concorde Motors in Sanathnagar, with Adayana Learning Solutions providing the design and delivery of training. Similar Learning Centres will be introduced in other locations as well.

The Tata Motors Learning Centre will use a combination of e-learning and practical training. Key features include: consistent training delivery through e-learning, availability of a facilitator to guide trainees, use of demo components and important systems like steering, suspension, electricals, practical sessions at dealer workshops. Each trainee will undergo assessment during and at the end of the programme.

The first training programme, being introduced today, is a 5-week, comprehensive programme for Service Advisers. Going forward, training programmes for Team Leaders, Service Technicians and Spare Parts Personnel are being planned.
