Home maker turned politician Kartika Reddy to head Hyderabad local body GHMC

Hyderabad: The first time division member and home maker B. Kartika Reddy elected as first women mayor of expanded Hyderabad local body named as Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. The Congress high command, in a last minute surprise proposed her and name Kartika elected un opposed to the highest post for the city. A graduate and mother of 2 children was elected fromTarnaka division.  Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s – MIM propsed  Jaffer Hussain has been elected as Deputy Mayor. Kartika will be in the post for two years and later MIM will occupy the seat in rotation basis.
