Bharti Airtel Q3 Net Profit 2,236 cr, average monthly revenue per user 230 rupees

airtel logoMUMBAI: Bharti Airtel Ltd is earning 230 per month on its telephone services users. The company current user base as on December stood at 125 million, which includes Sri Lanka operations. Country’s number one private mobile operator registered 8,755 crore rupees revenue and 2,236 crore rupees net profit for October-December quarter of the 2009-10 financial year. The company announced its quarterly results today. According to the company data, Airtel user on average using 446 minutes talk time per month. Airtel is using its subsidiary Bharti Infratel network to run its mobile operations. As on date, Bharti Infratel owns 29,806 towers across the country. Interestingly Airtel gained 6% of its total revenue from just SMS services only.  The company average rate per minute during the quarter stood at 0.52 rupees. Bharti Airtel’s pre-paid users stood at 95.3 per cent of total users. As per the company estimates, 60 per cent of new mobile users are coming from rural areas of the country.
